Michelle Lamar

After 20 years in marketing and advertising, working with national brands, I left the ad agency world to become an online media consultant in 2005. I began writing my personal blog, WhiteTrashMom, about being a slacker mom in a world of perfect mothers the same year. Molly Wendland joined the blog in 2005 and the blog became a book.
The book was released on August 5th, 2008. The White Trash Mom Handbook (St. Martin's Press) is an irreverent but honest guide for parents of school age kids.
Fans of the book range from Silicon Valley guru Guy Kawasaki to New York designer, writer and entrepreneur Gabrielle Blair, founder of Kirtsy.com to Columbia Professor (and Ph.D.) Eric Abrahamson. Abrahamson is the author of A Perfect Mess: The Hidden Benefits of Disorder.
I juggle consulting projects and I contribute to a number of popular blogs and websites. I have links to some of my work below or you can read more details about my work on my website, michellelamar.com.
